Every year, Diwali brings with it a promise — a promise of light triumphing over darkness, love filling every corner, and our homes reflecting joy and gratitude. For me, decorating for Diwali is more than just an annual ritual; it’s a soulful celebration of beauty, intention, and warmth.
In this post, I’m sharing glimpses of my Diwali table and console setups from the past few years each one unique, yet rooted in the same essence: a cozy, glowing, love-filled home
A Symphony of Light and Tradition
From shimmering brass diyas to intricate pearl-studded tealight holders, every element on my festive tablescape is chosen with care. I love mixing metallic tones of gold and copper with soft florals, blending modern elegance with traditional warmth.
Styling Tip: Use diyas and votive holders of varying heights and finishes — this creates depth, movement, and visual interest on your table.
The Magic of Layering: Diyas, Flowers & Textures
Layering is my favorite styling principle! You’ll see a mix of:
- Brass bowls and votives clustered together for a glowing centerpiece
- Velvet mats as a textured base
- Petals of fresh roses and marigolds scattered for softness and fragrance
- Glass Vase with faux blooms for longevity and balance
Together, they create a multi-sensory experience — warm light, vibrant color, and gentle fragrance that embody Diwali’s spirit.
Console Corners That Radiate Positivity
In another corner of my home, I love styling my console table as a Diwali vignette — a beautiful focal point that greets everyone with light and positivity.
Here, I used:
- A mirror backdrop to reflect the glow of diyas
- Lotus-shaped tealight holders
- Artificial flower garlands for festive charm
The result? A space that shines even more brightly at dusk, transforming into a mini shrine of joy and beauty.
The Sacred Touch: Lord Ganesha’s Presence
No Diwali setup feels complete without invoking divine blessings. I placed a brass Ganesha idol at the heart of my arrangement, surrounded by diyas and petals
This small altar becomes a reminder of gratitude, abundance, and beginnings — perfectly aligned with the Diwali energy of renewal.
Add a touch of serenity with:
- Pebbles or crystals beneath the idol
- Scented candles or agarbattis
- A brass peacock candle stand for symbolism and height
The Palette of Prosperity
- Gold and brass tones for prosperity.
- Red and rose petals for love.
- White and pearls for peace.
- Yellow marigolds for auspicious energy
My Decorating Mantra: Mix, Layer, and Glow
Each year, my décor evolves — but the color story remains festive and
balanceThe secret to a memorable Diwali setup is not extravagance — it’s intention. Start with what you have, add thoughtful touches, and let light be the hero.
These small details make your home not just beautiful, but emotionally warm and inviting.
This Diwali, may your home shine with joy and your heart glow with gratitude.
